From a young boy, Gregory Gray Sr. felt uniquely groomed to become an entrepreneur.
In his Father’s lifetime, he had several successful businesses. This proved a shining
example for Greg, though it was his passion for basketball that further taught him to be
driven, a leader and a team player. All of which are key for leading and growing any
business.
The discipline that basketball provided helped him navigate High School, soon paving
the way for Greg to attend college. There, he earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree
in Computer Science at Stockton University. Once he graduated, Greg decided to try his
hand at finally becoming an entrepreneur in his own right. Along with several of his
friends, he created a music company. Unfortunately, the company disbanded due to
creative differences and other mounting life challenges. So, later in 2004, Greg decided
to venture into ‘Corporate America’ and opted for a wireless engineering position with
AT&T.
During his 18 years at AT&T, Greg was able to apply the valuable entrepreneurial
lessons taught by his father and the great leadership qualities he adopted playing
basketball, and took a keen interest in gaining further insights into running a Fortune
500 company. It was during this tenure that Greg decided to transition to the cannabis
industry.
“I have been studying the industry for years. Once New York decided to make it legal
and open the cannabis industry to recreational-based business, I decided it would be a
great time to take advantage of the opportunities it has to offer. Just like the
telecommunications industry, I seek to position Gotham buds as innovative, and
providing industry-leading premium products and cultural movement.”
Greg continues to serve his community and hone his leadership skills through service,
and is passionate about building wealth of knowledge and leadership in other young
minds by volunteering to coach basketball for the Milbank Basketball Team and the
Abyssinian Baptist Church team.
