Iphone / Email Set-up
Step 1: Find the “Settings” App Look for an app on your iPhone that looks like gears or cogs. It’s called “Settings.” Tap on it to open.
Step 2: Scroll Down and Find “Mail” Inside the “Settings” app, you’ll see a bunch of options. Scroll down a bit until you find an option that says “Mail.” Tap on it.
Step 3: Add Account Now, you’ll see an option called “Accounts.” Tap on “Accounts,” and then you’ll see a button that says “Add Account.” Tap on that too.
Step 4: Choose “Other” You’ll see a list of different email services like Google, Yahoo, etc. Since we are using IONOS for our Gotham Buds email, you need to choose “Other” at the bottom.
Step 5: Add Mail Account Under “Other,” tap on “Add Mail Account.”
Step 6: Fill in Your Information Here’s where you need to put in your IONOS mail details:
- Your Name: Your first name or any name you like.
- Email: Your full email address (like flname@gothambudsny.com).
- Password: Your email password that was sent to you.
- Description: You can put “Gotham Buds Mail” or anything you want.
Step 7: Choose IMAP or POP (for receiving mail) You’ll see two options: IMAP and POP. For Gotham Buds email, it’s usually better to choose “IMAP.” It helps keep your emails in sync with the server.
Step 8: Fill in Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server (for sending mail) You need to put in some server details:
Incoming Mail Server:
- Host Name: imap.ionos.com
- Username: Your full Gotham Buds email address.
- Password: Your email password.
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
- Host Name: smtp.ionos.com
- Username: Your full Gotham Buds email address.
- Password: Your Gotham Buds email password.
Step 9: Save and Verify After filling in all the info, tap “Next.” Your iPhone will check if the information is correct. If it’s all good, it will save your account.
Step 10: Choose What to Sync Now, you can choose what you want to sync with your iPhone – like Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes. You can turn these on or off based on what you want.
Step 11: You’re Done! That’s it! You’ve integrated your Gotham Buds email with your iPhone. You can now open the “Mail” app on your iPhone to see and send your emails.
Remember, if you ever change your password, you might need to update it in your iPhone settings too. Enjoy using your Gotham Buds email on your iPhone! 📧📱
